Google issues your YouTube 1099-MISC through your AdSense for YouTube account. YouTube does not issue it, and the payer block names the Google entity that paid you.
Google posts the form in your AdSense for YouTube account, and it does not appear in YouTube Studio.
Copy the payer details from your own form. Google filed that name and number with the IRS, whatever the brand on your channel.
Google issues no form below the reporting threshold. You still report the earnings.
Google issues your YouTube 1099-MISC through AdSense for YouTube, typically by early March, and reports your ad, Premium, Super Chat, Super Sticker, Super Thanks and channel membership earnings on it.
Google classifies YouTube Partner Program earnings as royalties, and the IRS requires a form for royalties from 10 dollars. Expect a form on far less than the 600 or 2,000 dollar figure you may have read.
Your tax form on file with Google expires after three years. Let it lapse and Google withholds 24 percent of everything you earn, worldwide, until you resubmit.
Google pays every YouTube Partner Program creator through an AdSense for YouTube payments profile, so Google is the payer and the form is a 1099-MISC. YouTube is the brand on your channel, and the payer block does not carry it.
Google reports on that one form your earnings from:
Copy the payer name, address and identification number from your own form. Google filed those exact details with the IRS, and a number you copy from a search result can be right for one year and wrong for the next.
Google typically issues Forms 1099-MISC to US creators by early March.
Google classifies YouTube Partner Program earnings as copyright royalties, and the IRS requires a payer to report royalties of 10 dollars or more. The 600 dollar figure, and the 2,000 dollar figure that replaces it for 2026 payments, apply to other kinds of 1099 income and do not apply to royalties.
If Google issues you no form, you still report the earnings. Once you have 400 dollars or more of net earnings from self-employment, you also file Schedule SE and pay self-employment tax on them, form or no form.
Google withholds nothing from a US creator who has a valid tax form on file. Google withholds 24 percent of your total earnings, worldwide, from a US creator who does not.
Google requires every monetizing creator to submit US tax information in AdSense for YouTube, and to submit it again when it expires. Your form expires at the end of the third full calendar year after you signed it. Google sets December 10 each year as the date by which your information must be in place. Miss it and Google applies backup withholding from the next payment cycle.
Google refunds withheld tax itself only if you provide valid information by the end of the same calendar year. After that, you claim it back on your return, and we do that for you.
Google shows the amount withheld in your AdSense payments report, and it appears on your 1099-MISC as federal income tax withheld.
Google issues a creator outside the US a Form 1042-S, on or before April 14, and not a 1099. Google withholds between 0 and 30 percent of that creator’s earnings from US viewers, depending on the treaty position they claim. That is a different form and a different filing, and we handle it under international tax consultant.
Google reports only what Google paid you. A sponsor who pays you directly is a separate payer.
A sponsor sends you a 1099-NEC once it has paid you 600 dollars in 2025, or 2,000 dollars for 2026 payments, and below that a sponsor sends nothing. You report the income either way.
If Google withheld from you in a prior year and you never claimed it back, send us that year’s form. A refund claim has a deadline.
We report your Google earnings, your sponsor payments and any tax Google withheld, and we claim back any withholding due to you.
We do not manage your channel or your AdSense account.
For what you owe on creator income, see individual tax preparation. If you are a creator outside the US, see international tax consultant.
We put a CPA or an Enrolled Agent on every return. We do not use seasonal staff.
We quote you a fixed fee before we start work. We do not run an hourly meter.
We answer your email within 24 hours, in filing season and outside it.
Send us your AdSense payments report for the year, plus anything a sponsor issued separately.
We confirm who paid you, from the form and not from the brand.
We check whether Google withheld from you, and whether you can claim it back.
We add every payment that produced no form, because you owe tax on those too.
We file, and we check the expiry date on your tax form so that Google does not withhold from you next year.
Pricing runs per return, not per form. These are the factors that set a quote, and you get the fixed number before the work starts.

You can file from the AdSense summary alone. If you do, you leave out the sponsor payments Google never saw and the tax Google withheld that you could have claimed back.
